Gerd Oberleitner
Dr. Gerd Oberleitner holds a habilitation in international law and the law of international organizations, is head of the European Training and Research Centre for Human Rights and Democracy, and UNESCO Chair in Human Rights and Human Security at the Faculty of Law of the University of Graz. He has worked at the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was Lecturer at the Centre for the Study of Human Rights at the London School of Economics and Political Science, as well as Visiting Professor at the Universities of Québec à Montréal, Addis Ababa, Prishtina, Ljubljana, Rutgers, and DAAD Visiting Professor at the Ruhr University Bochum. He is co-editor of the European Yearbook of Human Rights. Relevant publications as author or editor: Blurring Boundaries - Human Security and Migration (Brill 2017), Human Rights in Armed Conflict: Law, Practice, Policy (Cambridge University Press 2015), International Human Rights Institutions, Tribunals and Courts (Springer 2018), and Research Handbook on International Law and Human Security (Edward Elgar 2022).
