Institute of International Law and International Relations

The Institute of International Law at the University of Graz was founded in 1967; since 1970/71 it operates under the name “Institute of International Law and International Relations”. The Institute is active in teaching and research in the fields of international law, the law of international organizations and international relations. In teaching, it covers the essentials of general and institutionalised international law, while also addressing specific problems of international law and politics on a regular basis. The Institute closely cooperates with domestic and international teaching and research institutions, is regularly involved in international cooperation and research networks and maintains close ties with Austrian and international practitioners of international law. Members of the Institute participate in various professional associations and frequently serve in domestic and international expert and advisory bodies.
