In the scientific paper, the Resolution 70/1. "Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development" of the United Nations General Assembly and its centrepiece - a set of 17 universal goals for sustainable development, known as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) - are subjected to a closer examination under international law. Based on this examination, the concrete implementation of the SDG at the federal, state and community level in Austria is addressed, with a special focus on the communial approach, which is illustrated using the example of the city of Graz.
Thanks to the support of the Presidential Department of the city of Graz, headed by Mag. Verena Ennemoser, and the good cooperation with the assigned Department for Statistics, headed by Barbara Rauscher, BA, MA, it was possible to work out the topic in question in a practically relevant way. Through the data and facts provided, the communial position of the SDG in Graz could not only be examined legally, but also an up-to-date overview of communial initiatives and projects for their realization could be given.
To commemorate this fruitful cooperation, a photo session with Mayor Mag. Siegfried Nagl was held at the City Hall of Graz on September 14th.
