Research Stay at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf

As part of her dissertation, Lisa Seyfried completed a research stay at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf in April and May 2025. During this time, she had the opportunity to work intensively on her doctoral thesis on State Immunity under International Law in Austrian Civil Procedure Law at the chair of Prof. Dr. Katharina Lugani. The focus of the analysis has been placed on the national judicial practice of the application of restrictive state immunity.

Heinrich Heine University offers an excellent research environment, which enabled Ms Seyfried to establish valuable connections and benefit from the expertise of the academics there. The stay was financed by the Faculty of Law’s scholarship for the promotion of academic word. Therefore, the Faculty of Law as well as Prof. Lugani and her team in Düsseldorf are to be warmly thanked for this valuable opportunity.
