Dr. Christian Pippan contributed to the Meeting with a panel presentation on “Collective Delegitimation as a Normative Function of the United Nations: The Case of Unconstitutional Seizure of Power from Duly Elected Governments”. In the presentation, he discussed when (under which conditions) and how (applying which measures) the UN is responding to unconstitutional seizures of governmental power in member states and how relevant UN action (or, in some cases, non-action) is to be interpreted from the point of view of international law.
