Vortrag: Die normative Ordnung des Internets

Mag. Dr. Matthias C. Kettemann, LLM (Harvard), Direktoriumsmitglied des Exzellenzclusters "Normative Orders" der Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main, exponiert in seiner Habilitationsschrift eine normative Ordnung des Internets, deren Normengehalt all jene umfasst, die sich materiell und normativ auf die Nutzung und Entwicklung des Internets beziehen; dies auf drei verschiedenen Ebenen (national, regional, international), unabhängig von ihrer Genese (privat oder öffentlich) und unbeschadet ihrer Bindungskraft (von ius cogens bis zu technischen Standards). Kettemann legt damit die erste ganzheitliche Interpretation und Kontextualisierung von Normen im Internet vor und setzt wichtige Wegmarken für Prozesse der rechtlichen Verständigung und gesellschaftlichen Selbstvergewisserung sowie der Verhandlung über die Verteilung von Gütern und die Ausübung von Autorität im Internet. Im Rahmen seines Vortrags am Institut für Völkerrecht und Internationale Beziehungen der Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz am 20.11.2018 (12:30-13:30, SR 15.41) präsentiert er zentrale Thesen seiner Forschungsarbeit und bietet Einblicke in seine Entwürfe einer normativen Topographie des Internets.
