In preparation for the upcoming finals of the Telders International Law International Moot Court Competition, the Department for International Law and International Relations organized Friendly Rounds in Graz von May 21st and 22nd 2026. For this purpose, the Graz team was delighted to welcome students from the Eötvös Loránd University Budapest as well as the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen. The Friendly Rounds offered participants the opportunity to test their pleadings under realistic conditions in front of other teams and experienced judges, and to gather valuable experiences for the upcoming competition in The Hague.
During the two intensive days of pleadings, the teams competed against each other in simulated oral hearings and presented their arguments before various judges from the field of international law. The primary focus was on further developing rhetorical skills, refining the legal argumentation, and performing in an international negotiation setting. Targeted questions and feedback from the judges provided the participants with valuable insights into the requirements for the upcoming oral rounds of the Telders Moot Court.
In addition to the professional aspect, the Friendly Rounds also provided an opportunity for personal exchange and networking with students from other countries. During a joint dinner, the participants, coaches, and judges were able to engage in conversation and share their previous experiences in the Moot Court.
The Institute for International Law and International Relations would like to sincerely thank all participating teams as well as the judges for their dedicated involvement and support.
